How Music Becomes Noise

Music can sometimes become noise… Well, it really depends on the preferred genre of the person. Sometimes, the person enjoys loud and noisy music like heavy metal or rock songs.

When I was still studying, I used to play music as a background. I preferred soft music because it helps me focused on my study provided that I have sufficient sleep because if I didn’t get that enough sleep, I felt dizzy and lazy instead.

In this scenario, playing soft music could only worsen the situation. It’s because soft music could serve as a lullaby song which would cause someone to yawn several times while reading a book or notes until he or she chooses to just sleep rather than finishing studying the lessons.

However, I knew some of my classmates who used to listen to heavy rock songs while studying to keep them awake. Imagine all the sounds coming from the strings of electric guitars, the beats of the drums and the husky loud voice of the lead vocalist, I wonder how they were able to concentrate during that time.

One of the factors that we could consider in order for us to say that music is pleasant to one’s ear is the quality of the sound. In this case, the speaker plays an important role. There are headphones, earphones or headsets that could play music better than the other. One could actually notice the difference with just the quality of sound.

But what if the music needs to be played in huge audience because of the occasion, let’s say birthday parties or company events? Is it just me or do you also notice the music becomes unpleasant everytime the volume is increase, and all you could hear is not the rhythm or melody of the songs anymore but only sounds with lots of bass and treble wherein one could consider this already as noise. That’s why one must invest in the quality of the speakers to be used in such event.

The price of those quality amplifiers may be expensive initially but if you’re after the value of the special gatherings that you will conduct, then you might want as well to consider purchasing excellent power amplifier speakers like qsc at musicians friend.

Our taste in music really depends on our emotions. With that being said, no one knows the standard of how music really becomes a noise to others! (AAP)

Comfort for Missy

I know you may be wondering who is Missy in my life. Is she my girlfriend? Nope, by the way she is not my girlfriend but it’s just the name of my future pet. Clever enough!? I don’t think so. Well, I think the reason why I named her Missy it’s because of Missy Elliot. She is one of my favorite Hollywood artists because of her song Get Your Freak On, as it always brings back the good memories of the old days!

Missy, in my mind, should be a cat. Not just an ordinary cat because I’m seeing it as a Persian cat. I haven’t thought of her color yet, maybe white or black will do, or if it’s multi-color, why not? Someone says it’s lucky to have a pet with four-color fur.

For me, pets are important to human because it has plenty of benefits. It could be a substitute for babies in a situation where couples are not lucky enough to have it, or even for singles. And just like babies, you could play with it as it could take away your stress, and you need to take care of it in return. Sometimes, the maintenance is quite expensive too because you need to take it to the doctor for check up if it’s not feeling well.

We used to own cats in our home when I was a kid. But when I became busy with my studies, I forgot to take care of them. As a result, they left our home. Some of them even moved to our neighbor’s house and some of them have just vanished. Unlike before, I somehow have my regrets for not taking care of them but now I will ensure my future Missy that I will give her a portion of my busy schedule. Moreover, I’ll buy her stuffs like cat foam beds just to show to my appreciation.

I’m excited to have Missy in my life. I’m planning to have her when I move to my condominium unit by 2016. I just hope that my future Missy will sleep on her bed but if there will be nights that she needs to be cuddled; my bed will still be open for her! (AAP)

The Power of Strings

Could you imagine a concert without musical instruments? Visualize the performers like the Black Eyed Piece, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Regine Velasquez, Maroon 5 or even the Journey band performing on stage in acapella, do you think they will become effective and get that standing ovations? I don’t think so.

Electrically Inspired

Any sound that is produced naturally is soothing to one’s ear. The humming of the birds, the flow of fresh water along the river, and the gentle raindrops on the roof during rainy season are just some of the examples. In addition, I have to say that all native/improvised musical instruments also give that same relaxing effect. Continue reading

WINGMAN: The best chicken place in Makati City

If you’re looking for the best place to chill out with your barkada or officemates on a Friday night, you might want to consider Wingman, located at The Collective, 7274 Malugay Street, 1212 Makati City (nearest landmark is along the Avida Towers Condominium and Central Bar and Restaurant Makati).

Last week, me and my officemates from West Corporation went to this establishment to have our lunch on a Friday midnight. Yes, we used to have our lunch at midnight since we are working on a mid/night shift to follow the office hours accordingly of our main office located in Omaha, Nebraska.
Well, what can we say; we love the place because in our regular lunch, we were able to chill out and enjoy our food at the same time. We ordered a dozen chicken wings, 2 orders of Fish and Chips (good for sharing), salad, and large order of fries.

Also, to fully enjoy our Friday night lunch out, we ordered a pitcher of beer, just right to match the taste of the chicken wings.

Wingman also offered unique kinds of dessert like Fried Snicker Chocolate Bar and Fried Coca Cola. What we tried was the Fried Coca Cola, and it tasted not that excellent but fair enough if your taste buds are quite adventurous. (AAP)

Sentimental Greeting

Every year, when I celebrate my birthday I highly appreciate those people (especially my loved ones and closed friends) who greet me personally (like sending a birthday postcard, sending a personal email, or just calling me over the phone) rather that those people who just sent me a text message or posted a message via the social networking sites. Well I can’t blame them because it’s the easiest way of communication (which I sometimes actually do). However, if the birthday celebrator is really special in your life, you would try to exert an effort to make it somehow memorable.

I cannot argue that these technologies help us to move in face paced. Yes, it definitely helps our lives and our economy. However, in greeting a person, the faster we greet the person, the thoughtless the message is received (almost close enough to being meaningless). As if technology seems to remove warmth meaning of the actual message.

For me, I would still like for someone to greet me personally like the one I’ve mentioned above. If you think that cards or either postcards are all similar, you’re wrong because nowadays you can personalized and print postcards that you will give to your loved ones.

With that being said, I still want to use these technologies for business purposes, but if the events are special and quite personal, then I would rather call myself old-fashioned yet unique and full of human sentiments because for me, handwritten messages often signify how the person is connected with your life. IECEP Manila Chapter participates in PRC Meeting (RE: Drafting of ECE Philippine Electronics Code)

Two (2) of the IECEP Manila Chapter Officers Engr. Anne E. Dulay (Vice-Governor Internal) and Engr. Aleksandre A. Pates (Secretary General) have participated in a meeting about the draft of the Philippine ECE Code held at Club Filipino, Greenhills, June 1.

Engr. Joel Bajador, one of the ECE Board of Examiners from the office of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and Engr. Romulo Agatep, former IECEP National President have initiated the said meeting. It was intended to talk about the drafting of the new Philippine ECE Code which will be solely use as one of the bases of RA9292.

Some of the representatives from different IECEP Chapters all over the Philippines were present to partake in the discussion. The past and present officers of the National were also present to be involved in the symposium.

Currently, the Code that is being used by the practicing PECE, ECE and ECT is still the old one, based on the Philippine Building Code which is actually outdated and not specific to RA9292’s discipline.
The whole day activity was indeed productive since the group was divided into different sub groups to focus on specific area to contribute in the creation of the said ECE Code.

Timeline was also set temporarily so that the group can plan out when will be the drafts should be submitted and scrutinize accordingly. It is considered to be presented during the 63rd Annual General Assembly which will be held at SM Aura on November 2013. (AAP)
