IECEP Manila Chapter participates in PRC Meeting (RE: Drafting of ECE Philippine Electronics Code)

Two (2) of the IECEP Manila Chapter Officers Engr. Anne E. Dulay (Vice-Governor Internal) and Engr. Aleksandre A. Pates (Secretary General) have participated in a meeting about the draft of the Philippine ECE Code held at Club Filipino, Greenhills, June 1.

Engr. Joel Bajador, one of the ECE Board of Examiners from the office of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and Engr. Romulo Agatep, former IECEP National President have initiated the said meeting. It was intended to talk about the drafting of the new Philippine ECE Code which will be solely use as one of the bases of RA9292.

Some of the representatives from different IECEP Chapters all over the Philippines were present to partake in the discussion. The past and present officers of the National were also present to be involved in the symposium.

Currently, the Code that is being used by the practicing PECE, ECE and ECT is still the old one, based on the Philippine Building Code which is actually outdated and not specific to RA9292’s discipline.
The whole day activity was indeed productive since the group was divided into different sub groups to focus on specific area to contribute in the creation of the said ECE Code.

Timeline was also set temporarily so that the group can plan out when will be the drafts should be submitted and scrutinize accordingly. It is considered to be presented during the 63rd Annual General Assembly which will be held at SM Aura on November 2013. (AAP)
