Prevention is always better than cure so here are few tips on how to take care of our eyes:
- Sleep 6-8 hours daily.
- Avoid wearing contact lenses for more than 12 hours.
- Wear UV protective shades or sunglasses.
- Take a power nap during lunch time or breaks, or even in siesta. Your boss won’t kick you out of the office for a 5 or 10-minute sleep. Thus, it will make you even more productive after that.
- Limit the use of computer or lower the brightness so as not to strain your eyes.
- Avoid reading when travelling especially when in motion, this activity strains your eyes.
- At the office, relax your eyes by closing it for about a minute or two in the middle of the busy work.
- Avoid wearing 3D-glasses for too long.
- This one is a classic tip: gently put a cold cucumber slices against the eyes for ten 10 minutes before going to sleep.
- And most important of all, eat fresh fruits and vegetables that are rich in Vitamin A and Beta Carotene. What you eat is what you are! So it absolutely defines what kind of person you are through your eating habits! Be healthy at all times. (AAP)
